is a research
company providing model
set-up and simulations of hydrodynamics in
marine systems
for operational and scientific use. The applied models are the General
Ocean Turbulence Model (GOTM) and the General
Estuarine Transport Model (GETM). Different bio-geochemical
models can also be coupled to GOTM for studies of ecosystem
dynamics.
About Bolding & Burchard
Bolding & Burchard (B&B) was
funded in Varese, Italy in 1999 during an entrepreneurship
programme
of the European Communities as an international partnership under the
legal form of a Gesellschaft bürgerlichen Rechts (GbR) under
German law. As of November 1st 2007 the company has been registrated
under Danish law as a ApS (anpartsselskab) with Karsten Bolding and
Hans Burchard each having 50% of the shares.
Our purpose
The purpose of B&B is research, development and
scientific
consultancy in the field of numerical hydrodynamics. The partners are
Karsten Bolding (Denmark) and Hans Burchard (Germany), who both have a
long-year experience in oceanography and coastal engineenring with
specific expertise in three-dimensional hydrodynamic modelling,
turbulence, mixing, coupled ocean-atmosphere dynamics, data
assimilation, computer science, etc.
